By accessing and using SteuerPilot ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SteuerPilot is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that helps individuals, freelancers, and small businesses in Germany manage their tax-related documents, deadlines, and collaborate with tax advisors. The Service includes features such as document capture, ELSTER export, deadline tracking, and advisor collaboration tools.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payment

The Service is offered on a subscription basis. By subscribing, you agree to:

Pay the subscription fee according to your chosen plan
Automatic renewal unless cancelled before the renewal date
Price changes with 30 days notice
No refunds for partial subscription periods (except as required by law)

We offer a 14-day free trial. No payment information is required during the trial period.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the Service only for lawful purposes
Provide accurate tax and financial information
Comply with all applicable German tax laws and regulations
Not use the Service to commit fraud or tax evasion
Not share your account with unauthorized users
Not attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the Service

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We process your data in accordance with GDPR and German data protection laws. You retain ownership of your data and can export or delete it at any time.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, designs, logos, and content, is owned by SteuerPilot and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal or business use.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
All features will meet your requirements
The Service will be compatible with all devices or software
Tax calculations are accurate or complete (you should verify with a tax advisor)

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEUERPILOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Tax Advice Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: SteuerPilot is a tool for organizing and managing tax documents. We do not provide tax advice, legal advice, or accounting services. You are responsible for:

Ensuring the accuracy of your tax information
Consulting with a qualified Steuerberater (tax advisor) for tax advice
Submitting tax returns correctly and on time
Complying with all applicable tax laws

11. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you will lose access to the Service, but you can export your data before termination.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
